About
Adeliza of Louvain was Queen of England, the young second wife of Henry the First, called the Fair Maid of Brabant; widowed, she married William d'Aubigny and brought him Arundel, sheltered her stepdaughter the Empress in 1139, and ended her days in the nunnery of Affligem in her own Brabant.

✓ ADELIZA (Adelicia) OF LOUVAIN (c.1103-1151), QUEEN OF ENGLAND (2nd wife of HENRY I, m. 1121; no issue by him); 1st da. of GODFREY I, Count of LOUVAIN, Duke of Brabant and Lothier (I99980, already in the tree), by Ida of Namur; m. 2ndly 1138 William d'Aubigny (our line); d. 9 Apr 1151 at Affligem, aged about 48. This rung LOOPS Arundel onto the existing house of Louvain - she was SISTER of Josceline de Louvain of the Percy line - and adds a QUEEN OF ENGLAND (by marriage) as a direct ancestress through her second, non-royal marriage.
