Research notes

✓ AGNES de KEVELIOC (c.1155-1247), da. of HUGH de KEVELIOC Earl of CHESTER (I99851, already in the tree); wife of the 4th Earl of Derby; mother of the 5th Earl (our line). This rung LOOPS the Ferrers earls onto the existing earls of Chester. Standard well-documented English baronial genealogy (CP; web-confirmed 7 Aug 2026); contested rungs note-only, not hardened. ||27 Oct 2026 - MOTHER WIRED (✓)|| Bertrade de Montfort (c.1155-1227), da. of Simon Count d'Evreux, m. Hugh of Kevelioc in 1169 - CP III 'Chester' p.167. Source: Complete Peerage 2nd ed. vol. III (1913), 'Chester' p.167 and notes (b), (c), (e) (archive.org completepeerageo03coka), read 27 Oct 2026. ||27 Oct 2026 - BIRTH CORRECTED|| Previously given as c.1155. Her mother Bertrade did not marry Hugh of Kevelioc until 1169 (CP III 'Chester' p.167) and he d. 1181, so Agnes was born between 1170 and 1181; the c.1155 in the older prose above is wrong and the 'lived past ninety' remark with it (she d. 1247, so aged c.70).
