About
Agnes Warham of Croydon was the wife of Sir Anthony St Leger, the Lord Deputy of Ireland, and a niece of William Warham, Archbishop of Canterbury, Cranmer's predecessor and the last primate of the old religion. She died in March 1559, having seen her husband govern Ireland through three reigns and every change of faith. Hers is the third archbishop's kinship in the direct line.
