About
Alan, Lord of Galloway, Constable of Scotland, was the last of the great semi-independent lords of that sea-facing province, commanding fleets and galloglass in the old style while the new Scotland closed around his lordship. He married Margaret of Huntingdon, of the Scots royal house, and at his death in 1234 the ancient lordship of Galloway ended, divided among his daughters - one of whom, Dervorguilla, founded a college and mothered a king.

CP thus confirms at page grade: the Constableship, the death without surviving male issue (CP 1233; some modern accounts 1234), the three coheiresses, and - the placement that matters here - Dervorguilla as daughter of the SECOND wife, our Margaret of Huntingdon.
