"Alice Swayne, mother unto Arthur Swayne" - brass monument in Monxton church, Hampshire; died 10 Jan 1599. AGE DISCREPANCY (noted July 2026): transcriptions differ - "aged lxxxviii" (88, hence b. ~1511) vs the VCH Hampshire reading "aged lxxxxviii" (98, hence b. ~1501); unresolved, birth left as ABT 1511. Arthur's father is not identified in the surviving record; TNA holds the will of Arthur Swayne, Gentleman of Sarson (Discovery D945319) - ordering it is the obvious next step.
