✓ as to the relationship, name from the standard accounts: the grandfather of Bertrade, Countess of Chester, was the brother of Bertrade de Montfort, wife of Fulk IV of Anjou (CP III 'Chester' p.167 n.(c): 'Bertrade's cousinship to Henry II was owing to her grandfather's sister, Bertrade de Montfort, wife of Fulk IV, Count of Anjou'); both were children of Simon I de Montfort (I100730) by Agnes of Evreux (F100259), so this grandfather is Amaury [III] de Montfort, Comte d'Evreux from 1118, who rebelled against Henry I and d. 1137 (Medieval Lands 'Montfort-l'Amaury', not re-read today - name and dates at ~ until checked). Father of Simon [III], Comte d'Evreux. His wife (Agnes de Garlande in the standard accounts) not wired. RING 27 Oct 2026 to Simon I de Montfort. Source: Complete Peerage 2nd ed. vol.
