About
Ambrose Lane of Lanespark held the estate in the early eighteenth century and died in 1724 or 1725. It is in his lifetime that the family's lands, granted as Killeens in 1666, first appear in a deed under the new name of Lanes Park.

Tipperary; m. 1st Eleanor Gabbitt (our line); d. 1724/5 - will proved Prerogative 1725: Vicars, Index to the Prerogative Wills of Ireland, 'Lane, Ambrose, Lane's-park, co. Tipperary, esq., 1725' (read 13 Jul 2026; supersedes the 1724/6 range). NB Vicars also lists 'Lane, Ambrose, Lanesborough [sic - surely Lanespark], co. Tipperary, gent, 1783' - a younger Ambrose (his son Ambrose, or a grandson), and 'Lane, Mathew, Rosbercon, co. Kilkenny, gent, 1774' - Cavenagh's childless Mathew of Rosbercon, confirmed. NOW DEED-DOCUMENTED: 'Ambrose Lane of Kileens, Gent', lessee (from Robert Wallis of Gaulstown, ex-Hollow Sword Blades Co. land), lease dated 30 Jan 1710/11, reg. 2 Jul 1715 - Registry of Deeds 14/418/6493 - with lives including 'John Lane, son of B' (= Col. John, our line) and 'Gilbert Lane, brother of B' (matching the Ossory will's Gilbert). One memorial documents Ambrose at Killeens, the Ambrose->John step, and brother Gilbert.
