Research notes
✓ St Arnulf (c.582-640), 'ex nobilissimo fortissimoque Francorum stemmate', courtier of Theudebert II, Bishop of Metz 613/14-c.629, adviser of Dagobert I, hermit at Remiremont; father of Chlodulf and Ansegisel 'iuventutis suae tempore ex legitimi matrimonii copula' (Gesta Episcoporum Mettensium, 8th c.). The 'Arnoald' and Roman-senatorial ancestry given him by the 9th-century Metz genealogies is dynastic invention - FLOOR, not wired above.
