Arthur Swayne of Sarson in Hampshire lived from 1543 to 1609 and acquired the manor there. The Swaynes connect this family to the Ryves of Damory Court and so, at one remove, to the Dorset seat of the baron the Damery name-legend points at.

Arthur Swayne, Esq. of Sarson (Sarston), in Amport, Hampshire (1543-1609); acquired the Manor of Sarson from Anthony Lisle in 1598 (Burke's "of Sareen" = Sarson). Father of: Robert Swayne of Sarson (m. Mary Arnold), Edward (d.s.p.), Jane, ANNE (m. William Freke - our line), and Mary (m. Nicholas Hyde, Lord Chief Justice of England, d.1631).
