Bridget Aston was a daughter of John Aston of Aston in Cheshire, and she married Thomas Bunbury of Stanney. Her son Sir Henry took his knighthood in 1603, in the first honours of the new King James - the Cheshire gentry stepping quietly from Tudor to Stuart England.
