Research notes
✓ Comita, Judge ('king') of Torres (Logudoro) in Sardinia (d. 1218), of the house of Lacon-Gunale; father of Maria, wife of Bonifacio di Saluzzo (his charter of 22 Jan 1215 'filie mee Maria'; marriage contract 1202 'Mariam filiam Comitae Turritanae iudicis'). His wife is given by Fara as Spella of Arborea - unconfirmed, not wired. His father is disputed (Fara: Gonario II; others: Barisone II) - DECIDED with Aynsley 19 Oct 2026 to leave Comita as the floor, to avoid duplicating or mis-linking generations in the Torres naming pool. A NEW CROWN for the tree: the Judicate of Torres. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'Northern Italy 1100-1400'. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 19 Oct 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.]
