Research notes
✓ Ealhmund, King in Kent 784 ('Ealmundus rex Canciae', charter 784; Anglo-Saxon Chronicle s.a. 784: 'this king Ealhmund was the father of Egbert, the father of Aethelwulf'). His father Eafa, and the line to Cerdic, come only from the Chronicle's later genealogy of Aethelwulf - not wired; Medieval Lands notes that his origins may have been Kentish rather than West Saxon. Wife unknown. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'England, Anglo-Saxon & Danish Kings'.
