Research notes
The Ven. EDWARD MOORE, of Mooresfort, Co. Tipperary, ARCHDEACON OF EMLY - father of Mary (m. Nov 1783 Thomas Pennefather of Marlow; our line). ⚠ TRAP FLAGGED 23 Jul 2026: Burke's LGI has a 'MOORE OF MOORESFORT' article (p.493) - but it is a DIFFERENT, LATER family: Charles Moore (b.1804, son of Arthur Moore of Crookedstone, co. Antrim, by Mary O'Hara) PURCHASED Mooresfort in the 19th century and was MP for Tipperary; his son Arthur John Moore was made a Papal Count 1879. That is NOT our Archdeacon Edward Moore, who held Mooresfort a century earlier (dau. m. 1783). Do NOT wire our Moore line from the Burke's Mooresfort article - wrong family, same house successively held. The Archdeacon's own ancestry needs a proper source: COTTON'S FASTI ECCLESIAE HIBERNICAE (his Emly archdeaconry + earlier preferments, which usually give parentage), TCD Alumni Dublinenses under Moore, or his will. END OF LINE as entered, correctly. Source: Burke's LGI 'Pennefather of Marlow'. Added July 2026; trap flagged 23 Jul 2026. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 24 Jul 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.]
