About
Eleanor de Vitre, a Breton heiress, was married four times and outlived every husband, dying in 1233 - a career of survivorship remarkable even by the standards of medieval heiresses. By William FitzPatrick, Earl of Salisbury, she was mother of Ela, the countess-abbess of Lacock, and through her this line runs. Her father Robert III, Baron of Vitre, is now in the tree above her.
