✓ DOCUMENTED (Cokayne, Complete Peerage vol. VI, 'Ormond' pp.139-146 (photographed & read 23 Jul 2026)., p.140): ELIZABETH, dau. of Sir John DARCY of Platten, co. Meath (Justiciar of Ireland; her father was the 2nd Earl's guardian); wife of James, 2nd Earl of Ormond; mother of the 3rd Earl (our line). Direct ancestress. Added 23 Jul 2026. ||NOTE 6 Aug 2026|| Her father Sir John Darcy m. 3 Jul 1329, as his 2nd wife, JOAN DE BURGH the widowed Countess of Kildare (I100247, our ancestress); by the standard account Elizabeth Darcy was Darcy's daughter BY JOAN - which, if right, makes Joan de Burgh a DOUBLE ancestress (Kildare and Ormond) and Elizabeth the uterine half-sister of the 4th Earl of Kildare. Held at ~, not hardened - CP-Ormond names only her father.
