About
Ellen Barry was the daughter of William Barry, a labourer of Dunmanway, and she married James Damery at Drinagh in June 1858, both of them signing the register by mark. She raised her family in the hungry margins of a county that had just demonstrated what became of people at the margins. She died of tuberculosis, and the death was reported by her son John.
