✓ Ellen Roche, da. of David (Roche), Lord Roche / Viscount Fermoy (I99149, d. 1581/2) by Ellen Butler of Dunboyne (I100221); 1st wife of David Barry, de facto Viscount Buttevant (d. 1617); 'She was living as his wife, Oct. 1593, and apparently in 1599' (CP I p.442). Sister of Jane Roche (I99148), Lady Kerry - RING 26 Oct 2026. Mother of Ellen Barry (I101747): David's 2nd wife Julia MacCarthy was married after 1599, too late to be mother of a daughter whose own daughter Honor was married by 1618, so Ellen Roche is the only possible mother.
