About
Faelan mac Murchada, King of the Ui Faelain, died in 1065, a lord of the dynasty's home territory in northern Kildare in the last generation before the Normans changed every rule. In him the line has descended from the great provincial kingship to the compact lordship that bore the family's name - the Ui Faelain, the descendants of Faelan, holding the old heartland around Naas.
