About
Gerberga of Provence (c.1060-1112) was a countess of the Bosonid house of Provence, the line of kings that had ruled the old kingdom of Arles. Married to Gilbert of Gévaudan, she inherited comital Provence in her own right after the murder of her brother, and governed it; her daughter Douce carried Provence by marriage to the counts of Barcelona, uniting the two houses. Our line runs through Douce.
