✓ Gunther, Margrave (of Merseburg/Thuringia), killed fighting the Saracens near Cotrone 13 Jul 982 with Otto II's army; father of Ekkehard I of Meissen (Annalista Saxo: 'Ekkihardus Guntharii filius' succeeded Rikdag in 985; also Thietmar).
