Henry Ivers (Ievers), the FOUNDER: clerk to the King's Commissioners for settling quit rents; granted 1,000+ acres in Clare/Galway 1667 and a further c.2,000 acres 1678; acquired Ballyarrilla (site of Mount Ievers), Co. Cork' - upgrading Burke's blank '- Seward'. George of Athlacca inherited Cragbeg and Athlacca, d. before 7 May 1747, with at least FIVE sons (Robert of Castle Ievers m. Mary Parsons of Cragbeg; George m. Anne Gubbins; Henry the barrister d. unm. Dec 1801; Anthony; John of Mongboy) - and his grandson George (c.1757-1808) SUCCEEDED TO MOUNT IEVERS itself in 1783, so the Seward-blooded line came to hold the big house.
