About
Henry Piers of Tristernagh was a noted traveller who went as far as the eastern Mediterranean and wrote an account of it, which the family later deposited in Sir James Ware's manuscript collection, where it survives. He married Jane Jones, a daughter of the Archbishop of Dublin, and had four sons and six daughters. He conformed to Rome late in life. He died in September 1623.

JANE, dau. of THOMAS JONES, D.D., ARCHBISHOP OF DUBLIN AND LORD CHANCELLOR OF IRELAND; four sons and six daughters; "an eminent traveller, left behind him an account of his travels in Germany, Italy, &c." (a copy placed among Sir James Ware's MSS); CONFORMED TO THE CHURCH OF ROME and prevailed on some of his children to do the same (his 3rd son Thomas became a Franciscan friar); d. 1623.
