Hugh Aston of Aston

~ Hugh Aston, younger son of Sir Robert Aston of Aston and brother and heir of Richard (d.s.p. c.1369); married his son Robin to Fillote Hawarden and his grandson Richard to Jonet Hoknell (testimony of Robin Hocan, aged 70, 5 Hen. V). TOP: Leycester carries the line up seven more generations to Gilbert de Aston (temp. Henry II), but notes that 'Fillote' and 'Felice' (Sir Robert's wife, m. 1333) may be the same woman 'and the two Robert Astons confounded' - and the dates do not fit as printed - so the generations above Hugh are NOT wired: Sir Robert × Felice Hawarden (m. 7 Edw.
