His father is given by Medieval Lands as Galeran II, Comte de Meulan (d. 10 Apr, year unknown), 'the primary source which confirms his parentage has not yet been identified' - and Galeran II's as Galeran I 'de Chartres' (d. before 985/87) x Liegardis, widow of Raoul II of Cambrai - neither wired.
