Hugues II Count of Maine

✓ Hugues II, Count of Maine (d. before Dec 992), father of Hugues III and Foulques. His own parentage 'is not known with certainty' (Medieval Lands): a series of dubious charters calls him son of a 'David'; otherwise a son of Hugues I (whose mother Rothilde was a daughter of Charles the Bald). FLOOR - not wired above. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'Maine Comtes'.
