About

Idwal Foel, Idwal the Bald, King of Gwynedd, submitted to the English crown as his father Anarawd had, then rose against it, and was killed in that revolt in 942 with his brother beside him. The dynasty absorbed the defeat and kept the kingdom; his line ran on to Gruffudd ap Cynan and Owain Gwynedd.
