About
Isabel of Scotland was a natural daughter of William the Lion, King of Scots. Her second marriage, arranged by treaty in 1191, was to Robert de Ros of Helmsley; one of the twenty-five barons chosen at Runnymede to enforce Magna Carta. Through her the blood of the Scottish kings runs into the Ros barons of Helmsley and Wark, and to us.
