Research notes

✓ Iveta (Juetta) de Arches, daughter and heiress of William de Arches ('Willelmus de Archis pater meus', her charter to St Peter's York [1167/90]); m. 1st Roger de Flamville, 2nd (after 1167) Adam II de Brus; granted land to 'Isabelle de Brus filie mee' 1192. Mother of Peter de Brus (d. 1211). Her father William de Arches is not wired: he may well be of the family of Osbern de Arches, the Domesday tenant whose daughter Agnes (I101925) married Robert de Fauconberge, but Medieval Lands does not state the link. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'Scotland Kings, ch.5 Kings of Scotland (Bruce), A. Origins - Brus of Skelton (SCOTLAND.htm), read 27 Oct 2026'.
