✓ Joan (Jehanne) de Lusignan, widow of Bernard-Ezy I, Sire d'Albret in Gascony, and da. of Hugues XII, Count of La Marche and Angouleme, by Jehanne, da. and h. of Raoul, Seigneur de Fougeres in Brittany; wife of Piers de Geneville and mother of Joan, Countess of March (CP VIII p.441). Through her the Mortimers counted the Counts of La Marche among their ancestors - CP thinks Roger chose the title 'Earl of March' partly 'to commemorate the descent from Joan, one of the coheirs of the ancient Counts of La Marche' (p.439 n.(h)).
