Research notes

✓ as a name: Juliane, wife of Hugues [V] de Gournay - 'Hugo de Gornaco' gave property to Fecamp 'pro animabus Juliane uxoris mee et puerorum meorum' (charter 1202); living 1202. PARENTAGE NOT WIRED: Medieval Lands records that a letter purporting to be from her granddaughter Juliana Tregoz to St Thomas Cantilupe makes Hugh's wife 'la soer le count Renaud de Boloyng', i.e. Juliane de Dammartin, daughter of Aubry [II] Comte de Dammartin and Mathilde de Clermont (both already in this tree, F99878) - but the same letter contains an impossible marriage, and 'the absence of Juliane's descendants from the enquiry in 1267' into the Boulogne inheritance 'suggests that this alleged parentage is incorrect'. So the Dammartin ring that this tree's older notes assumed is NOT made; left note-only (decided 27 Oct 2026).
