About

Lady Honora O'Brien was a daughter of Conor O'Brien, third Earl of Thomond, of the royal O'Briens who descend from Brian Boru, and she married Thomas, sixteenth Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw, about 1594. She died in 1600, the year her small son was carried out of Listowel. She is the source of the Honora forename that then recurs down this family for a hundred and fifty years, and the first of the two doors through which the O'Brien royal blood enters this tree.
