About
Margaret Hanmer, daughter of the judge Sir David Hanmer, married his most brilliant pupil at law - Owain Glyndwr - and became, briefly, the last native Princess of Wales. She bore him a large family at Sycharth, endured the war that consumed it, was taken at the fall of Harlech and held in the Tower, and vanishes from the record about 1420, her burial place unknown, like her husband's. Through her daughter Alys the blood of the Hanmers and of Glyndwr survived quietly in the March.
