Mary Anne Treacy was born in Cork about 1881 and was working as a dressmaker in 1901, living at home with her mason father George, her mother Mary, and three brothers who were masons too. She married Eugene Bowdren at the Cathedral in June 1902, her brother Christie standing witness. Her daughter Nora, born in 1920 at Boyces Street, is Aynsley's grandmother.
