Maud of Chester, a daughter of Earl Hugh de Kevelioc, married David, Earl of Huntingdon, brother of two kings of Scots, and died in 1233. Through her daughter Margaret the Balliol claim to Scotland's crown descended - and through the same bed, this family's road to the competitors of 1291.
