About
Mor Ui Thuathail was queen of Leinster, principal wife of Diarmait MacMurchada and mother of Aoife, the bride of Strongbow. Her half-brother was Saint Laurence O'Toole, Archbishop of Dublin, the peacemaker of the invasion years and Ireland's canonised saint - which places a saint's sister in the direct line at the exact hinge where Gaelic Ireland and the Normans met, in her own family's marriage bed.
