✓ Nicholas de Stafford, s. and h. of Robert the Domesday baron; 'With Robert his eldest s. and h. he made grants to the Priory of Kenilworth. He m. Maud. He d. in or after 1138, and was bur. with his wife at Stone' (CP XII/1 'Stafford' pp.168-169; Eyton's reasoning that he d. as early as 1135 'does not seem to exclude the possibility that Robert's attestation may have been as early as 1145').
