About
Odo Borel, Duke of Burgundy, took the cross in the wake of the First Crusade and died at Tarsus in Cilicia in 1103, on the long road home - one of four ancestors in this tree who died on crusade in a single generation's span. Of the Capetian dukes of Burgundy, a grandson of King Robert the Pious's son, he left the duchy to his heirs and his bones in the East.
