About
Ordono III of Leon held his kingdom for five years against a rebellious half-brother, an ambitious uncle, and the armies of Cordoba at its zenith - and against all three kept his throne until his early death in 956. His son Bermudo carried the royal line of Leon toward the queens whose marriages stitched the Spanish kingdoms into this ancestry.
