Research notes

✓ (O'Hart, Irish Pedigrees (1892), 'O'Brien (No.1) King of Thomond', gen. nos. as cited; corroborated by the Annals of the Four Masters and by the DC782/R-L226 O'Brien Y-DNA study (which independently numbers this same descent 105 Brian Boru -> 120 Turlogh Donn). Wired 23 Jul 2026.): RAGNAIT (Narait), dau. of O'Fogarty, Lord of Ely-Deisceart (Eliogarty), Tipperary (note-only); 2nd wife of Turlogh; mother of Donal Mor (our line). Direct ancestress. Added 23 Jul 2026. CHECKED 25 Oct 2026: the annals name an O'Fogarty wife of an earlier Turlough O'Brien - 'Gormlaith daughter of Ua Focarta, queen of Munster, wife of Tairdelbach ua Briain, died 1076' (AU 1076.7, AI 1076.7). That is Turlough (d.1086), great-grandfather of her husband Turlough (d.1167); no annal names this Ragnait. Left as is (O'Hart/Banshenchas tradition).
