Revd William Ellis

Documented line (per the family chart). Chart: "of Clonakilty". Chart date: not given. Backfilled from the family chart (Damery_Family_Tree.html), June 2026. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 24 Jul 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.] ||27 Oct 2026 - IDENTITY CAUTION|| An online summary offers 'the Rev. William Ellis, Rector of Cloughnakilty, b. c.1690, d. Cork Feb 1764 in his 74th year' for this record. He CANNOT be the father of Ann Ellis b. 6 Dec 1786 (I81042); if the chart's 'Revd William Ellis of Clonakilty' is right, ours is a later clergyman of the name, possibly the 1764 man's grandson. Not wired; Brady's Clerical Records of Cork, Cloyne and Ross (1864) and Alumni Dublinenses (a William Ellis entering c.1760-75) are the tests.
