Research notes
✓ ROBERT CRACHRODE, of Toppesfield, 'who lived in the tyme of Kinge Edward 3d, a.15 of his Raynge 1341'; father (per the 1612 Visitation) of Thomas (our line). DOCUMENTED FLOOR of the wired Crachrodes. ⚠ CAUTION: the heralds' descent Robert->Thomas->John may drop a generation (Agincourt 1415 is long after 1341), and Morant's variant from the Cust Hall deeds runs John(1393)->Robert->John-at-Agincourt instead; the earlier links are therefore left NOTE-ONLY and this floor not hardened above Robert. The Custs held Cust Hall before the Crachrodes.
