About
Robert de Ros of Helmsley and Belvoir, called Fursan, was one of the twenty-five sureties of Magna Carta. He married Isabel, a natural daughter of William the Lion, King of Scots, and late in life he took the habit of a Templar. His effigy lies in the Temple Church in London.
