Research notes

✓ Rohese, first wife of Hugh de Lacy, Lord of Meath ('Hugo de Laci et Roes. uxor mea', Monmouth Priory charter witnessed by Gilbert and Robert de Monmouth); mother of Walter, Lord of Meath (b. c.1172). Often called Rose of Monmouth: Medieval Lands suggests she was a daughter of Baderon of Monmouth and Rohese de Clare, but notes no primary source proves it - so parents not wired and surname left blank. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'Ireland' (Lacy, Lords of Meath).
