Research notes

~ [Ryksa] ([1018]-after 1059), da. of Mieszko II Lambert, King of Poland, by Richeza of Lotharingia; m. Bela of Hungary in Poland (Gesta Hungarorum 'filia Miskae'; Kronika Wegiersko-Polska 'rex Polonie filiam'). The name Ryksa is from Europaische Stammtafeln, no primary source found. ~ as mother of Zsofia: Medieval Lands judges it 'safer to assume' Zsofia was her daughter (Zsofia b. by [1050]; Ryksa living after 1059), against Wegener's view that Zsofia was a daughter by a second wife Tuta von Formbach (single modern dissent - noted, not used). Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), read 3 Nov 2026: 'Hungary, Kings'. Also Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), read 3 Nov 2026: 'Poland'.
