~ PLAUSIBLE, not certain (Source: Burke's Peerage (modern edn), LANSDOWNE lineage pp.2237-38, re-photographed and read 22 Jul 2026. - Burke's: "ALLEGEDLY m Slany, dau of Connor O'Brien, Prince of Thomond"): SLANY, dau. of CONNOR O'BRIEN, PRINCE OF THOMOND (note-only); wife of the 2nd Baron; if right, the first of several O'Brien splices in this line. Grade ~ per Burke's own hedge. Added 22 Jul 2026. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 24 Jul 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.] ||CP AUDIT 26 Oct 2026|| upgraded ~ → ✓: CP VII p.204 states without hedge 'He m. Slany, da. of Connor O'Brien, prince of Thomond'; and John the 4th Baron m. Honor O'Brien 'his mother's great-niece'. Source: Complete Peerage 2nd edn vol. VII (1929), 'Kerry' pp.201-214 (article by J. Brownbill, revised by G.H. Orpen), read 25-26 Oct 2026 (archive.org djvu text). ||27 Oct 2026 - FATHER WIRED (~) - RING|| Lodge II p.187 (MS pedigree): Nicholas, Lord of Kerry, 'married Slany, daughter of Connor O'Brien, Prince of Thomond'; CP VII p.204 repeats 'He m. Slany, da. of Connor O'Brien, prince of Thomond' (citing Lodge). Her husband occurs 1295-1332 and her sons were active 1325-1378, so she was born c.1260-75; the only Conchobhar who ruled Thomond in that span is Conchobhar na Siudaine, King of Thomond 1242-1268 (I99646), already in the tree with the whole Dal gCais line to Brian Boru. Wired to him as ~ probable: the identification rests on the pedigree's 'Connor ... Prince of Thomond' plus elimination, not on an annal entry naming her. Mother not asserted (his recorded wife Mor MacNamara, I99647, is the only one in the tree - Slany is placed in that family for want of another, mother-grade ~).
