Research notes

✓ Sprota, 'nobilissima puella Danico more sibi iuncta' of William Longsword (Guillaume de Jumièges), mother of Richard I, born at Fécamp c.932; Flodoard calls Richard 'nato de concubina Brittana' (a Breton). After William's death she is said to have married Asperleng, by whom she was mother of Raoul, Count of Ivry (not wired). Added 15 Oct 2026 as the missing mother in F99729. Source: Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'Normandy Dukes', citing Guillaume de Jumièges and Flodoard. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 15 Oct 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.]
