About
Alice Sergeaux was a Cornish heiress, the widow of Guy de St Aubyn, and in 1406 or 1407 she became the second wife of Richard de Vere, eleventh Earl of Oxford. Both of his sons were hers. She died in 1452 and lies beside him at Earls Colne, her effigy carved with talbots biting at the hem of her robe, which is a pleasing coincidence in a family whose own crest is a talbot's head.
