About
Amice of Gloucester was the daughter and eventual sole heiress of William FitzRobert, second Earl of Gloucester, and so a great-granddaughter of Henry the First. She married Richard de Clare, third Earl of Hertford, and carried the earldom of Gloucester to her Clare descendants. The royal blood enters this family through her.
