About
William FitzRobert, second Earl of Gloucester, was the son of Robert of Gloucester and the grandson of Henry the First. His daughters were his coheirs, and one of them, Isabel, was briefly married to the future King John before the marriage was annulled. This family descends from another daughter, Amice, who carried the Gloucester earldom to the Clares.
