About
Anne de Ferrers of Groby married Edward le Despenser in 1335 and was widowed seven years later when he fell at Morlaix; she lived on to 1367, raising the son who would rebuild the Despenser name into a Garter knight's. Through her the Ferrers of Groby blood joins the line - a second Ferrers road beside the Chartley one.
